International Conference on Nanomedicine

Dr Rongjun Chen from the University of Leeds  co-organised the 2011 International Symposium on Functional Polymers for Nanomedicine in Hangzhou, China. This event was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the WUN Leeds Fund for International Research Collaborations (FIRC), Zhejiang University, and Zhejiang Sci-Tech University.

The general theme, “Accelerating Clinical Translation of Nanomedicine for Cancer”, was to provide new insights into the challenges in clinical translation of nanomedicine, as well as innovative designs of functional polymers and nanomedicines. Over 100 leading academics and industrial experts from North America, Europe, and Asia attended this symposium, including 47 invited speakers. Four academics from the School of Chemistry together with two further academics from the Faculty of Biological Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering attended and all delivered invited presentations at the symposium
