LUCCI
“Cardiovascular disease and regeneration - 50 healthy years after 50”
The number one killer and major cause of disability in the UK and China is cardiovascular disease. The problem is becoming worse in both countries because of the impact on the cardiovascular system of diabetes. The Leeds University-China cardiovascular Initiative (LUCCI) has been established to deliver solutions for the needs of people who have cardiovascular disease, through short-term clinical projects and long-term research efforts that enable new treatments through improved fundamental understanding and innovative technologies. This ambitious partnership will include:
- Short-term bidirectional research exchange programmes for early-career and established investigators
- Joint workshops and symposia at both sites
- Common research projects and grants that address major scientific and clinical problems of common interest
