Key gender-related units at Bristol:
GENDER@ University of Bristol
There has been a longstanding tradition of excellent research and teaching on gender and feminist theory at Bristol University, going back right to the 1970s and the days of ‘second wave’ feminism. Currently work on gender is carried out across the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, with active researchers in the Graduate School of Education, Human Geography, Law, Management Research, Politics, School of Policy Studies and Sociology. Work is also carried out in the School of Social Medicine. The Faculty produces numerous publications in the area, along with seminars and conferences, and has strong international links, for example, with colleagues in China, India, Norway and the Netherlands
Gender has been adopted by the university as one of its thematic priorities and we are eager to build links with our colleagues in the WUN Gender network. Currently the group is particularly focused on two areas and we would like to hear from people with mutual interests:
- The New Sexualised Economy
- The Future of Feminism: Epistemologies and Methodologies
