Bio
Kevin Lin is a postgraduate research student in the China Research Centre at the University of Technology, Sydney. His research is focused on exploring the rapidly shifting landscape of state-labor-capital relations in China, in particular how the rise of labor is reconfiguring labor relations and labor politics. Based on field research in China, Kevin’s PhD dissertation is aimed to conceptualise the formation of a distinct labor regime in the Chinese state-owned enterprises after the restructuring of the state sector in the 1980s and 1990s. The paper he will deliver for the WUN Contemporary China Centre virtual seminar series is based on a continuing collaborative project that seeks to understand the changing state-labor-capital relations through case studies of collective bargaining in China.
