As an Educational Foundation, the Worldwide Universities Network provides funding to selected groups to support research and educational innovation in identified areas. The primary purpose of this money is to meet the "transaction costs" of faculty working together on an international basis to pursue research and educational programmes that are beyond the scale and scope of single institutions. It is not, therefore, a source of direct costs of research, educational or other projects which are the province of external funders. In keeping with this approach, as a not-for-profit organisation, our stated policy is that we do not provide for the payment of indirect costs
